Bandung Digital Valley (BDV) opens enrollment for startups to join as candidates for Incubation Tenant Batch 1. This opportunity is open for startup that already has a business entity (incorporated), or a new form of team that does not have a business entity, provided it is not individuals. Registration is open since last Friday to April 1.
Startup that is elected as tenant will get a 6-month incubation period of training that focuses on aspects of business development. This business development training covers seven areas, namely Entrepreneurship, Business Model, Finance, Management, Commercial, Product Management and Strategy. In addition to business development, tenant will also receive talent development training in the form of technical training by experts, especially related technology required by tenant.
Indra Purnama, Executive Director of Bandung Digital Valley revealed the criteria for startup that it is looking to be incubated. The criteria includes the startup is a team or company, has a product (at least reaching prototype stage) with good business pontential, commits to establish a strong business entity in the long run and does not take incubation program from other incubation business. In addition, said startup is engaged n Games, Educational Content, Digital Music, Animation and Software (Consumer Apps & Business/Enterprise Apps). Startup that wishes to register for this process must be a member of BDV first by registering via BDV portal on http://bandungdigitalvalley.com. After that, you can fill a form with brief profile and action plan that can be downloaded here.
From enrolled startups, BDV will summon a number of qualified candidates to present their business profile, products and action plan in front of selection committee. The selection committee will determine which startup is accepted to be incubated tenant.
The incubation process is scheduled to begin in mid-April 2012, with an incubation period of 6 months. At the end of the period, BDV will plot a matchmaking session which will bring together incubated tenants and several venture capitals. Purnama said, a couple of venture capitals already expressed interest to invest on tenant graduated from BDV incubation.
BDV is an incubator owned by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, which was launched in December last year. Located in R&D Center Jl. Gegerkalong Hilir 47 Bandung 40152, BDV has facilities ranging from creative desk (working desk), lounge, café, meeting room, gadgets and server (for testing purpose) which can be utilized by BDV members for free by making advance reservation.
