You might have known Quora, earlier this year became one of the most popular service in such a short time in Indonesia.
If Quora didn’t get much continuous adoption from Indonesian users, one of them is because the strict service and the usage of English on their website. You can try one of the projects developed by Mufti Ali called Kriuq.com. The service is quite similar with what Quora has to offer but with several loose regulations and Bahasa Indonesia usage.
Kriuq.com is developed by Mufti Ali since January and became some sort of weekend project. Ali said, Kriuq is a media to discuss, users can ask or answer questions or share content that can be commented by other users. The questions asked can be aimed to public or to certain user. You can also follow other users to add your relations in Kriuq.
Kriuq also provide several facilities to enable users to in following certain questions so that they can see the development of interesting questions. Ali also explained that he realized of the competition happening in Q&A services, that’s why Kriuq will be developed into discussion media with Indonesian taste.
I have to say, basically its appearance looks similar to Quora, but with difference in features and facilities. Kriuq’s appearance this time is the second one after changed awhile ago by Mufti Ali. The change was done so that users can get the image of Kriuq’s service.
So far Indonesian taste visible in Kriuq’s service is the language used by users, which up to this article is written has reach 141 users. More can still be developed by Kriuq so that their service can be accepted by Indonesian users, little survey of what Indonesian users need for Q&A service might help them finding their own uniqueness that they are looking for.
One of the service I am looking for from a Q&A service is quality of the questions and the answers, and I found that in Quora. The strict regulations there also meant to maintain content’s quality. The problems that occur with Indonesian users is actually quite complicated, close to dilemmatic.
Indonesian users are reactive of new service (especially the ones with social element). On one side is the enchanting market share, but on the other side it caused its own problem especially on content’s quality. Kriuq should find a way so that the content’s quality they are providing is well maintained, but on the other hand, the service they are providing should not be too complicated..
The long way this project is taken to be developed into startup is still like I said, a long one. I found several bugs, like search facility which is the important part for services such as Kriuq, till need perfection at least its appearance that I think is still not quite neat and the cut logo when I visited the service. For their appearance, it still needs some development so that it can look different from similar service, or even better if Kriuq conduct simple survey to find what kind of looks that the local users like. I think our user behavior have their certain uniqueness.
If you want to try Kriuq, you can go to this link, and I am looking forward for your comment and opinion on Kriuq’s service.
