Fashion e-commerce site Zalora announces the launch of visual search in application, along with company’s effort in increasing sales conversion.
Starting today (11/20), all Zalora users on iOS and Android can click the button. Take a picture of their favorite clothes, shoes or accessories and able to see similar products in Zalora.
Zalora app has downloaded by over 20 million users. Over than 50% orders are from mobile devices. This feature is considered important to attract user transaction.
The company is working with ViSense, an AI company supporting online visual trading for Zalora’s fashion consumers. AI technology applied is smart visual-detector solution to shorten the process of consumer looking for visual on site.
ViSense offices spread across U.S, U.K, India, China, and Singapore. Some of the partners already using this technology are Rakuten and ASOS.
Karthik Subramanian Zalora’s CTO said this feature is made for overcoming customer difficulties in describing clothes and shoes in textual search. This feature launches at the same time with end of year shopping season.
“We want to give satisfaction in shopping to our customers, just by taking pictures of any fashion stuff attracts their attention,” Subramanian said in official statement to DailySocial.
Oliver Tan, ViSense’s CEO added that Zalora is one of the company’s longtime partners. With ViSense’s AI technology or deep learning, it is expected to increase sales conversion with easier visual trading.
