Yes, I just made that headline up. I have no idea what “Keyword-based Social Discovery Platform” is but that’s what I can come up with for Yahoo! Post. Yahoo! Post is a keyword-based search that allows users to also connect with people of the same interest.
After launching the same product in Korea and Hongkong, Yahoo! now launches Post in Indonesia which they claim has high and promising number for keyword and social search. Content at Yahoo! Post is entirely user generated; essentially a keyword-based forum.
From the website (in Indonesian) you can easily find information based on specific topics, it’s like a forum but divided by topics in a better way than the usual forum with its sub-category. On the frontpage you can see the popular forum, popular topics and a directory structuring the whole content on the website.
Yahoo! claims that this product is providing a new way for users to discover new content on the web based on their social preferences. This could be the sign that Yahoo! is trying to obsolete its content-based products including search, groups, YM etc.
