Good news for developers specializing in digital gaming. Ovum research agency released its research report that mentioned that digital gaming industry in Asia Pacific region will reach US$30.3 billion in the year 2016. That is with the prediction that the average growth reaches 18% each year – a 2% increase from the global average.

Ovum’s consumer telecom analyst, Neha Dharia said that this region will globally push the world of digital gaming. The biggest contribution will be Massive Multiplayer Online Gaming (MMOG) while the highest growth will come from mobile gaming.

The biggest digital gaming market will still be in the East Asia region, where South Korea and Japan scored better number than China. Ovum also predicted that there will be more than 900 million mobile gaming players in Asia Pacific region in 2016.

Even though Indonesia is not mentioned in this press release, of course we know that Indonesian market is a massive potential market, be it for desktop as well as mobile gaming. One of the proof is the launch of Angry Birds Facebook in Indonesia.
