Since it’s changed to a franchise league in Season 4, there is no new team joining the MPL ID. The similar 8 teams will still be competing this season. In case you didn’t know, here are the participants:
- Alter Ego
- Aura Fire
- Bigetron Alpha
- EVOS Legends
- Geek Fam ID
- ONIC Esports
- RRQ Hoshi
- Rebellion Genflix (changed from Aerowolf Genflix in Season 8)
Those 8 professional teams will be competing for a total prize pool of US$300K this season. The league will start from February 18th to April 24th. Interestingly, MPL Indonesia will be held offline and open to the public.
“There are three surprises at the beginning of season 9 of MPL Indonesia. We will be offline and also open to the public, and finally MPL Indonesia can be watched in cinemas! We do all these things by complying with the regulations from the government and tightening the health protocols,” said Azwin Nugraha, Public Relations and Communications Manager of Esports Moonton Indonesia in the official press release.
