Indonesians’ readiness to adopt mobile concept has shifted from merely as consumers to producers. In fact, local app developers have never stopped improving their quality as the industry gets better from one day to another. Hence, Intel Indonesia looks to collaborate with Dicoding to ride on this positive trend.
“We are pretty serious in backing Dicoding up. We hope that Dicoding can transform itself into a new hope for local developers in facing challenges to show the world that Indonesian creative industry is highly potential,” said Intel Indonesia’s Developer Relation Division, Firstman R. Marpaung, in an exclusive interview session with DailySocial.
Dicoding is a platform which connects parties who intend to build a tech ecosystem to local app developers. Dicoding facilitates all developers at any level, from beginners to professionals. With an interesting gamification concept, developers may gather points after finishing certain challenges. Narenda Wicaksono, Dicoding’s Co-Founder, even associated Dicoding as the LinkedIn for Indonesian developers.
It’s not a secret that the developer ecosystem in Indonesia has got more mature after all these years. Tons of activities, like competition, workshop, training, seminar, and awards, have accommodated developers to provide their best. Nonetheless, Marpaung regarded those as insufficient. It takes a whole new idea which unifies all those activities into a single entity to make a significant impact for Indonesian developers.
Through Dicoding, he expected to have much better sustainability and integration from stakeholders, developer communities, and even the government. Intel has committed to facilitate developers to try and utilize their latest technology, so that when it comes to Indonesia, they’re ready. This is to enable them being actively involved as content creator who is able to utilize the tech to design beneficial and relevant digital content.
“Intel brings along a number of latest technologies which can be a new opportunity for local developers. One of them is the popular RealSense. Intel also often holds workshop and seminar on its latest technologies which allow local developers to play at international stage,” Wicaksono ended.
