I.saku Developer Gets E-Money License, Tighten Salim Group Position in Digital Business

Bank Indonesia (BI) site is recently released new name for e-money license. It is for PT Inti Dunia Sukses, effective per October 10th, 2017. The company is well-known as i.Saku e-money’s app developer, which now available in iOS and Android. PT Inti Dunia Sukses is also a part of Salim Group, precisely under Indoritel focusing on Indomaret and few other merchants.

I.Saku app can be used for various transaction including cash deposit, shopping or withdrawal by token. All transactions can be completed on every Indomaret merchants in Indonesia. Various loyalty programs and promos for customer is starting to merge in the app.

Salim Group is getting serious in digital industry

By getting the license, Salim Group shows the desire of being on top in digital industry. As previously informed, Salim Group have ambition in maximizing e-commerce potential. One of which is through the elevenia acquisition, which going to be pushed this year and have an opportunity to compete with players in the top industry.

In fintech region, Salim Group’s target is getting discovered, post-acquisition of Bank Ina Perdana in particular. They are ambitious in transforming cashless transaction by developing internet banking, mobile banking and e-money. Furthermore, they want to connect it with Indomaret network which now becoming digital transaction payment points.

The next stage of digital financial industry competition

Some players ever promised the license from BI (especially e-money-based e-commerce) have not getting any status update regarding the approval until the late 2017. While previous competition are mostly between on-demand players and telco, the range is getting broader after Lippo Group obtained the license through OVO.

It will comes in vary. While GO-PAY is trying to manouver with its services – rumored to be an agnostic payment system, along with T-CASH – other competitors has their own ways, as Salim Group by using its offline retail to penetrate users. Thus, the fast movement is very important for players in order to win the competition in this current “sexy” business line.
