Go-Jek officially introduced its food delivery service called Go-Food through its official Twitter Account (1/4). To access the service, users don’t need to install a new app since the service is integrated in Go-Jek app already, although it’s only available for iOS users for the time being.
This may serve as an alternative solution to food lovers, as they may now enjoy their favorite food without having to get out of their residence or office. The service will surely be a direct competitor to Foodpanda and Klik-Eat. To utilize the service, users only need to upgrade their Go-Jek app into the latest version, and the Go-Food icon will then appear on the lower left corner of the screen.
It’s safe to say that Go-Food is the expansion of the shopping feature which was often used by Go-Jek users to order food. While users needed to input the details of name, address, and menu of the restaurants that serve food they craved for, now they are only a click away from ordering their favorite food, thanks to Go-Food.
To order the food you want, you may search it using the ‘Category’ and ‘Near Me’ features. There are currently 22 categories available, from various rice to various noodle, chicken, and dessert. If you utilize the ‘Near Me’ feature, then you’ll be offered a list of the nearest restaurants to your location. However, if you know what you look for, then you may directly go to ‘Search’ feature, which is located below ‘Category’ and ‘Near Me’.
Go-Jek claimed that they have partnered with 15.000 restaurants all over Jakarta. Moreover, there will be a promo of free delivery during April, with a maximum of two orders in a day. However, you’ll still have to pay for the parking should the restaurant that interests you applies parking cost.
Go-Jek indeed is in the spotlight nowadays, especially after the service has been made available in form of mobile app, which is available for both iOS and Android-based devices three months ago. The Government of DKI Jakarta even has planned to integrate Go-Jek into the Smart City blueprint they’re currently designing. In early March this year, Go-Jek reached Bali.
