GameSaku announces partnership with Apps Foundry. It is carried out in form of Apps Foundry’s investment at GameSaku with undisclosed amount.
GameSaku is a mobile gaming blog, focuses on iOS platform (iPhone, iPod and iPad). It was previously known as RumahApp. GameSaku discusses various games in iOS, also reviews and writes about news on gaming industry. Apps Foundry, in other hand, is an application development company that develops SCOOP Newsstand. Apps Foundry is one of East Ventures’ portfolio that already received further funding from Gobi Partners and Mitsui Global Investment (MGI).
As mentioned in official press release, the operational activity will still be carried on by Hendri Salim and Glenn Prasetya as co-founders. Salim told about this cooperation,”(It) will make GameSaku better on providing the latest information from mobile gaming world, as well as promoting mobile gaming industry in Indonesia.”
Previously, Apps Foundry also built partnership with other blog that discusses Apple products, MakeMac. Now Apps Foundry has cooperation with two Apple-related-product blogs, game-related with GameSaku and Apple products with MakeMac.
GameSaku is established on January 10, 2012. It takes only four months to get its first investment. As Amir wrote in the article about MakeMac-Apps Foundry agreement, investing on online technology media/blog is having potential advantages, especially in investor’s perspective. This fact seems validating the idea that GameSaku won’t be the last local online media/blog to get funded.

Disclosure: I set up and manage a game blog.
