We just received an anonymous email letting us know that Foursquare has requested assistance from RIM to feature the latest version of the Foursquare app in the BlackBerry AppWorld. The reason for this request is apparently support for additional languages.
According to the email, the next Foursquare app update will have localization support for Thai, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese and Korean languages. The app will be made available from September 1. No word as to the localizations for Foursquare’s apps on other platforms such as iOS and Android at this moment.

I just wanted to send you an update that our BlackBerry up is ready to go live on September 1 with an upgrade that will include 5 additional local languages: Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Russian, Portuguese (targeted at Brazil), and Korean.
We would love to be considered for promotion/featuring in App World in those local markets starting September 1. Is there any way you can help us with alerting your local teams about this?

Indonesia is really nice catch for web apps like foursquare since most of us are tech savvy and really enjoy to know cool apps. I hope in the near future Indonesia will launch world class web apps that will used worldwide
