Last Sunday, DailySocial wrote about the Indigo Fellowship Roadshow. The roadshow has been held in Bandung on October 7th, October 9th in Yogyakarta, and October 11th in Jakarta.

DailySocial attended the Indigo Fellowship Roadshow in Yogyakarta that was held on October 9th, 2011 at Dixie Café, Jln. Affandi Number 40B Yogyakarta 55281. In this event, there were two speakers who won the Indigo Fellowship 2009 and 2010. They are Dibya Pradana – founder Ayofoto.com (the 2009 winner) and Arief Widhiyasa, founder Agate Games Studio (the 2010 winner).

Both of them shared some interesting tips for startup. Dibya Pradana shared 6 tips to build startup based on his experiences to develop Ayofoto.com. They are:

  • Think fast – launch fast: Think fast to execute the idea and launch the execution of the idea as soon as possible.
  • Listen to improve: Consider the feedback from users and do improvisation from the feedback.
  • Mastery – automate system: Try to do automatically, use more machinery than human.
  • Creative marketing: One of the interesting marketing strategies is contest/competition. It makes media pay attention on the product.
  • Build ecosystem: Make the ecosystem on our startup (product) so that the users can be easier to use our service and it can be monetized.
  • Show me the money.

Arif Widhiyasa also shared the steps to build game studio in Bandung called Agate. Arif chooses to work on the game segment because the market interest is very high. Here are some steps for youngsters to build game startup or different segment startups:

  • Set your Vision/Dream (Why?)
  • Find the Team/the Path (How?)
  • Define your Goals (What?)
  • Build your Things! (Game?)
  • Receive (Win)
