Biznet Networks, an Internet Service Provider (ISP) company based in Jakarta, has launched its new office in Yogyakarta at an event held at Hotel Ambarukmo, Yogyakarta. At the event, we also had the opportunity to interview Adi Kusma, President Director of Biznet Networks.
Adi Kusma explained that currently, Biznet’s fiber optic network in Yogyakarta has been built along 40 km and will continue to grow and expand. Adi believes that there are more to be developed by Biznet in Yogyakarta.
In the video below, Adi Kusma explained the reason why Biznet established an office in Yogyakarta; because it is one of Indonesia’s important digital cities where software development and its creative industry are really good. According to Adi, Biznet has to get closer to this community in order to help so the internet or other data communications become better.
“We could also get together and develop a product that can be launched in Jakarta or overseas later on. So we want to make an innovation lab team that will collaborate with the main team to create a product,” Adi told DailySocial.
While attending the event, I remembered an article written by Rama some time ago, “Why Jakarta Shouldn’t Be the Epicenter of Tech Startups in Indonesia”. In his writing, Rama mentions and recommends two cities in Indonesia that are suitable to be headquarters for a tech-startup: Yogyakarta and Bandung. Both cities have the same level as Jakarta, ranging from infrastructure, the best universities in Indonesia, business center, etc.
With the arrival of Biznet in Yogyakarta that has begun building and developing fiber optic infrastructure, this is definitely one of the options and opportunities for establishing a tech-startup office in Yogyakarta.
Below is our interview with Adi Kusma about Biznet’s new office in Yogyakarta:
