The BBM messenger (8/30) updates a new feature to play HTML5-based games. It’s made over BBM partnership with Yogrt social entertainment platform. Some games in BBM can now be played for free using the latest update on Android and iOS devices.
There are 10 games have been released in its debut, including Pac Maker, Jelly Pop, Four Colors, ElastiKitty, and many others. BBM ensures to add more variant games in the next few months.
Yogrt is currently known as a location-based social media platform. Includes in it, a live content that allows users to directly share videos. Before pivoting in 2016, Yogrt was a game-based social networking app.
“We’re very proud to have BBM as a partner. As a game content provider, we believe BBM users will gain the new experience. Our existence is to complete social interaction and entertainment in BBM app,” Jason Lim, Yogrt’s Co-Founder, said.
BBM Instant Games is located in the Discover menu. The developer intends to present a personal game experience and the ability to share/invite friends through a direct message in the game. Every game has a leaderboard to show user’s rank in the game.
“Indonesia is the largest mobile game market in terms of revenue and users. Gaming has become the popular activity in mobile devices after messenger, therefore we try to provide an additional value (through gaming) to allow them to be connected, share, and be entertained at a time,” Matthew Talbod, Creative Media Works’ CEO, said.
This is not BBM’s first service integration. Previously on August 2018, BBM announced an integration with live streaming service Vidio.com, in order to welcome the Asian Games. They also happened to have worked with DANA to create in-app e-wallet.
BBM’s vision to be an open platform, indulging users with various types of features. It causes the app becoming full. However, most of the integrated platforms have a strategic relationship with EMTEK group – such as DANA, an implemetation of EMTEK and Alipay partnership.
