Since the end of 2010, daily deal services emerged in several cities outside of Jakarta. There are Lapar.com in Bandung, MbakDiskon in Yogyakarta, MurahRek.com in Surabaya and Voucherbali.com in Bali.
Recently, another daily deals service launched in Yogyakarta, ready to compete with other daily deals services in town (DealKeren and MbakDiskon). This new daily deal service is called Angetan.com.
Angetan.com is quite different from other daily deals. Why? Because every deal can get you different virtual points. Users can exchange their points with interesting prizes from Angetan.com. Merchants who partners with Angetan.com will be on the list of Klub Angetan, which can help merchant to do effective marketing.
For me, Angetan.com appearance gives different “color” compared to other daily deal sites. The UX and UI seem quite elegant and I can totally see that users will feel comfortable using this service. However, some features on this site are not working properly.
Like other daily deals, Angetan.com uses manual bank transfer system and also direct payment to Angetan office at Ramai Mal, 2nd Floor Block D23, Jln. A. Yani (Malioboro) No. 73, Gondomanan, Yogyakarta.
The next question is how the competition will be. By now, DealKeren has been acquired and already got global network support while Angetan.com can give local taste. Let’s see whether daily deal market in Yogyakarta can accommodate these services to develop their service.
