On Thursday, February 2nd, Agate Studio launched their latest game, Monster League. Interestingly, this game isn’t running on expensive smartphone platforms such as an iOS or Android, but on mig33 chat application instead.

DailySocial had reviewed about mig33 previously. Mig33 is a chat application with 33 million users in Indonesia (no clear number for active users). Not just for chatting, mig33 is also equipped with various social games applications on their platform.

Valentinus Rama Kurniangga, the producer of this game, seems to agree with Daily Social that this is a great potential market. Through the interview via email that we did, Valentinus also added that mig33 gamers have same strong enthusiasm as Facebook gamers.

Besides the attractive choice of platform, the game also has an interesting theme. The theme taken is a combination between monster companion (a sort of Pokemon or Tamagochi that has received much previous infatuations) with a football theme that is a popular sport in Indonesia.

The player will be given a monster to train to become a tough footballer. Just like Pokemon, the player will provide training and complete the missions to make it stronger. Furthermore, player can do game with friends who also play this game. Agate is also developing a feature in the “Match Feature” for some players to form a team and challenge the other team.

Currently, the game is available for free to mig33 version 4.2 users and above. However, according to Valentinus, there’s always a possibility for the future that his team will develop this game for other platforms. Due to the mig33 limitation, he convinced that in other platform version this game will be more wow.

According to Agate Studio PR Manager, Yunita Anggraeni, via a press release sent to us, within two days after the launching, Monster League has gotten the attention from more than 10.000 mig33 users; 70% come from Indonesia while the rest are from Nepal, Bangladesh and Mozambique.

Agate Studio is a quite productive game developer. Some popular games by Agate that have been reviewed by Daily Social are Sexy Witch and Smash Mania.
