After Jakarta, Startup Weekend Indonesia will Come to Surabaya

Some days ago, I read a post on Facebook Group of Suwec about the information on Startup Weekend Indonesia. Last May, Startup Weekend Indonesia for the first time was held in Jakarta in October and next, it will be in Surabaya.

As the Startup Weekend in Jakarta, this event is the series of event to Global Entrepreneur Week 2011 that will hold in November. This event is organized by Indonesia Technopreneur Community (ITC) with Universitas Ciputra Entrepreneur Center (UCEC). This event is supported by Universitas Citra Surabaya, International Design School and Outsource Indonesia.

This event will be held for 54 hours (3 days), from Friday to Sunday on 21-23 October 2011 at Universitas Citra Surabaya, International design School and Outsource Indonesia.

Enita Robentrop – partner of Indonesia Technopreneur Community explained that Startup Weekend is the media for developer, designer, marketer, product manager, also talented people in many fields and entrepreneur enthusiast to gather and share the ideas and to make a team to build products and launch Startup Company during the weekend with the team guide from Startup Weekend NPO – Kauffman Foundation USA and experts from Indonesia.

The agenda of this event is the similar to the Startup Weekend in Jakarta. The first day (Friday, October 21st, 2011) is the “Idea Pitching” session. The best idea explanation is aimed to inspire other participants to join the team. The second day (Saturday, October 22nd, 2011) is the “Grouping session” which the team will focus on the customer development, validating ideas, practice the method of LEAN Startup Methodologies, building a minimal viable product. The last day (Sunday, October 23rd , 2011) is the “Statrup Launch” session that us a prototype demo, valuable feedback from panels, facilitators, and experts. Then, it is continued with the closing by the startup launching from the participants.

To join this event, each participant should pay IDR 850,000 . For those who register before October 15th, 2011 will only need to pay IDR 750,000. Students and Lecturers can join with IDR 700,000 and for 3 participants from the same company/ instance will get 10% discount. Quota is limited to 100 people.
