Currently, there are few restaurant directory services in Indonesia, such as Zomato and Qraved. In an effort to compete in the market, Foodmagz claims to present better feature and complete information.
“Foodmagz is a restaurant directory service providing recommendation and complete information to help people finding the best restaurant and help the business to get valuable customers, also profitable for the second-layer customer (restaurant) and the end-customer (people),” Hendra Cokki, Foodmagz’s CEO explained.
He’s quite optimist for the startup to compete among the similar services. In his opinion, Foodmagz was developed focusing on product, feature, promotion, and filter of registered restaurant that allows user to get qualified restaurant recommendation.
The new startup also claims to have the complete information on restaurant’s facilities. They sort the compatible restaurant directly to be in Foodmagz directory.
Some methods they’ve conducted are direct surveys [visiting] and direct contact [through various channels]. To date, they have more than 1,500 restaurant on the list and still counting.
As a new startup, Foodmagz is said to be supported by angel investor and ready to launch a mobile app in the third quarter.
In order to get a place in community, they’ve planned some new features, such as personalized recommendation with different experience for each user.
“The new website is to launch in March 1st, 2019, but the company has been established since January 2019. We’re still operating in Jakarta area and to ensure the product succeed in capturing people’s interest before scale-up to other cities. Expansion is planned in the Q4 2019,” Cokki added.
