In the mid-September of 2018, a Singapore-based platform developer startup for people analytics, EngageRocket received a funding worth of $1 million. This round was led by SeedPlus, supported by Found Ventures and angel investor Huang Shao-Ning. Aside from product maturity, EngageRocket will use the funding to develop markets, including Indonesia.
Leong CheeTung, EngageRocket’s Co-Founder & CEO, explained the business debut in Indonesia has started off with some clients, including Tokopedia, Bank Danamon, Shopback, and Mediacorp. The product applied is Engagement & Performance Management for HR system in a company.
“We’re adjusting contents with the local touch in-app to support Indonesia’s unique culture in work/organization. We also plan to develop the mobile app for Indonesian users,” CheeTung told DailySocial.
EngageRocket is aware of each region’s different culture in handling people. Indonesia, for example, CheeTung explained the need to overcome the conventional cult culture of some leaders by providing real-time, confidential, and sustainable feedback. The unique ways are necessary for business leaders to learn about their employees’ performance.
People analytics is a study using quantitative and qualitative data from employees to improve business performance. EngageRocket products aim to support leaders using data to make a better decision, including to boost team confidence or improve skills for innovations.
Using Employee Engagement Pulse module, users can now monitor employee experience, analyze trends and response on regulation and management transition. Later, with 360 Performance Feedback module, users can analyze the leadership performance and relate them to loyalty. Both modules are a package in the Software as a Services series.
CheeTung expressed the optimism towards the Indonesian market. With the amount of 250 million population and 127 million workers, the analytical technology app like this will be a great help for the rise of young leaders and managers in Indonesia. In addition, the public’s digital shifting is considered to be the right moment for the need of people analytics.
