Soveral days ago, we received a press release from Gameloft which explained their partnership with Nokia Store by providing a variety of games to be played using the Symbian OS platform. For DailySocial readers who have Nokia mobile device with Symbian OS platform, you may be able to try 6 (six) games that have been released by Gameloft.

Here are the lists of 6 (six) games that Gameloft has released in the Nokia Store:

1. RF2012 – the most popular football series from Gameloft. It has been re-produced with the updated graphics and variety of game- plays.

2. Assassin’s Creed – Altair’s Chronicles – The adventures of killer elite with exceptional capabilities.

3. The Adventures of Tintin – The Secret of the Unicorn – You may experience the adventures of Tintin in the official movie game for mobile. It’s full of action, exploration and mystery.

4. Hero of Sparta – Be prepared to deal with mythical creatures in an epic odyssey to Mount Olympus!

5. Shrek Kart – Shrek and his friends are in an important mission: to be the fastest kart racer on the kingdom!

6. Block Breaker Deluxe 3 – block-breaking game. Solve the boundary with  the deeper and more complex level than a single screen full of blocks.

As addition, Gameloft also prepared to release two other games on Nokia Store, the Green Farm and Shark Dash.

Gameloft is eager to provide games for mobile devices. They provide various games for various platforms such as for iOS, Android, Playbook and Palm OS. It is inevitable that in Indonesia the low-end mobile phones (J2ME) market share is higher than mid-and high-end, along with the development of technology Gameloft continues to provide a broader distribution channel for their games, including the market share of mid-high end level.

Partnership built by Gameloft and Nokia Store itself can be beneficial to both parties. Moreover it’s because the popularity of Nokia with their Symbian OS itself began to decrease after the appearance of strong competitors such as iOS, Android, and BlackBerry. The partnership with Gameloft could be one way to increase the applications sales in Nokia Store and Nokia mobile phone itself.

A little bit out of topic now, DailySocial loyal readers might be aware of Nokia Indonesia intense approach to local developers from the beginning of 2011 which happened in various parts of the city. The developers are invited to develop an application for Symbian OS and Meego with Qt framework. As addition, various workshops and competitions, including the Nokia DevStart, were also held some time ago.

One question arise relating to the cooperation between Gameloft and Nokia Store, it’s whether the local game developers that is promoted using Nokia platform and sold in Nokia Store will be displaced by big gaming company like Gameloft? It’s interesting to see further developments.
