Google today announced a localized YouTube service for Indonesia. The site is aimed to improve discoverability of local videos and to identify local content. The Indonesian YouTube is available through the location setting at the bottom of YouTube.com or by going directly to YouTube.co.id. YouTube Indonesia is supported by a number of media and entertainment companies as well as major advertising brands.
YouTube also announced that Indonesians will be able to enjoy watching live coverage of the 2012 London Olympics free of charge from YouTube’s Olympics channel from July 27 to August 12, 2012. Viewers will be treated with live coverage of the games, highlight reels, and replays 24 hours a day.
