February has seen some of the biggest game releases of 2022 (Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2, Elden Ring), but that doesn’t mean the parade will stop there. Whether you have a PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or PC, there are plenty of game options to look forward to.

Here are some of the most anticipated games coming in March 2022.

Shadow Warrior 3

Like its predecessors, Shadow Warrior 3 promises a pleasantly visceral first-person combat, courtesy of its large arsenal of firearms and a badass katana. Compared to Shadow Warrior 2, the game features more linear levels and a more streamlined upgrade system, though it also introduced new movement options for the main protagonist, such as the ability to wall run, double jump, air dash, and utilize a grappling hook to quickly transverse between platforms and vertical surfaces. The game is set in an uncharted area of “Neo-Feudal Japan”.

Shadow Warrior 3 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 1, 2022.

Babylon’s Fall

The makers of Bayonetta and Nier are back with another new, exciting IP. Babylon’s Fall is an action RPG with fast-paced combat and a distinctive visual style inspired by medieval oil paintings. You play as a Sentinel, a chosen warrior on a mission to confront the terrors that lurk within a strange tower. As a Sentinel, you’ll gain the ability to wield up to four weapons; one in each arm, and two more held by spectral tethers that extrude from behind your back. In addition to playing solo, you can also play with three other players cooperatively.

Babylon’s Fall is coming to PS5, PS4, and PC on March 3, 2022.

Gran Turismo 7

After a long wait, Gran Turismo 7 is finally almost here. If you need a game that can best demonstrate the capabilities of the PS5, this will be it. From its visuals to its driving mechanics, the details in this game are top-of-the-line. And if you want to talk about numbers, this game features more than 400 cars from 60+ automotive brands around the world, as well as tracks in 34 different locations and 97 unique layouts. Fans of racing games surely don’t want to miss this.

Gran Turismo 7 is coming to PS5 and PS4 on March 4, 2022.

Triangle Strategy

Triangle Strategy is a turn-based tactical RPG much like Final Fantasy Tactics, especially with its HD-2D visual style that blends 3D environments and modern effects with pixel-art characters and details. The game features more than 20 playable characters, each with distinct skills, who all can be recruited during its 50-hour-long main campaign. The story revolves around a new conflict that occurs thirty years after a war between three countries in the fictional continent of Norzella.

Triangle Strategy is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 4, 2022. There’s also a free demo available, which allows you to play from the beginning through Chapter 3, and later transfer the progress to the full game once purchased.

Chocobo GP

Fans of Chocobo Racing rejoice, as this is a direct sequel to that kart racing video game from 1999. In Chocobo GP, players will once again compete in a racing tournament as a character from the Final Fantasy series, using various items to help their character or hinder other racers.. Many aspects of the original game have been modernized, obviously, with one very apparent addition of online races that include a 64-player elimination tournament mode.

Chocobo GP is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 10, 2022.

WWE 2K22

Coming straight after WWE 2K20 from 2019, WWE 2K22 is set to redefine many aspects of the game, mainly through the use of better graphics and redesigned gameplay controls. It promises an all-new visual effects engine, never-before-seen camera angles, rescanned and realistic Superstars, unique environments, and more. WWE 2K22 also features a new mode called MyFACTION that lets players build their own group of WWE Superstars, and go through the many events the game provides every week.

WWE 2K22 is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on March 11, 2022.

Grand Theft Auto V

Almost nine years after its first release on PS3 and Xbox 360, GTA V is about to be re-released again on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Touted as an “expanded and enhanced” version, GTA V and GTA Online for these next-gen consoles promises better visuals with up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options and ray-tracing. It also includes technical advancements such as faster loading times, immersive 3D audio, and platform-specific features like advanced haptic feedback (PS5).

Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 15, 2022.

Tunic

Tunic is a top-down Zelda-like game starring a cute, little fox. This indie adventure game leans heavily into player exploration and lets you discover mechanics and items organically, all at your own pace. As the game progresses, players will unearth lots of secrets and hidden treasures to help them on their way. Tunic has been long in development by one person. It was originally announced with a different title in 2015, and it was initially scheduled to launch in 2018.

Tunic is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on March 16, 2022.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Initially came out back in Japanese arcades in 2013 before making its way to PS3 and Xbox One in 2014, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a fighting game with iconic characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4. It even features a story mode that continues the story from both Persona 4 and Persona 4 Arena (the predecessor to Ultimax).

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 17, 2022.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Developed by Koei Tecmo Games and Team Ninja, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is basically a dark fantasy interpretation of the setting for the original Final Fantasy game. The main protagonist in this action RPG is Jack Garland, whom long-time fans might know as Garland, aka the guy from Final Fantasy who created that game’s 2,000-year time loop and ultimately transforms into the game’s final boss, Chaos.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on March 18, 2022.

Rune Factory 5

In this latest entry of Rune Factory, players control a hero who loses his/her memory and ends up joining a group of rangers operating in the small town of Rigbarth. The hero is encouraged to tend the land as well as battle monsters in order to maintain the peace. As with previous games in the series, gameplay features the ability to farm and tame monsters. Players can also form social connections with the game’s townfolks, including ones with bachelors or bachelorettes leading to marriage.

Rune Factory 5 is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2022.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

A spin-off in the Borderlands series, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands follows the story of Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2. Like that expansion, the campaign in this game is set within the world of a fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing game. Tiny Tina will be its dungeon master and can change the game’s world on the fly. The game lets players create their own playable characters. While there are six different character classes available, players can mix and match skills to create a multiclass character — first time in the series.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on March 25, 2022.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the first platform game in the series with full 3D gameplay, where players must guide Kirby through various different stages to save the Waddle Dees at the end. Like with most Kirby games, Kirby can jump and slide as well as inhale enemies and objects which he can either spit out like projectiles or swallow to gain a copy ability. But what’s more exciting is the new “Mouthful Mode”, where Kirby can swallow and control larger objects, such as cars and vending machines.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Tango Gameworks is back with yet another terror-stricken IP, this time focusing on its Japanese roots. In Ghostwire: Tokyo, players must use various psychic and paranormal abilities to defeat the ghosts and spirits haunting Tokyo. The game is played from a first-person perspective, and the combat is described as “karate meets magic”. Unlike The Evil Within and its sequel, Ghostwire is primarily an action-adventure game instead of a survival horror game, though it still retains a couple horror themes and elements.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is coming to PS5 and PC on March 25, 2022.

Weird West

Weird West is a top-down action RPG with elements of immersive sim. As the title suggests, the game is based on the Weird West genre, in which the player takes the role of heroes in the American frontier who encounter supernatural elements. The game features stories of five bounty hunters, and the world is designed to be interactive and responsive to the player’s action. Weird West is developed by WolfEye Studios, a new studio founded by Raphaël Colantonio, who was the founder and for 18 years president of Arkane Studios.

Weird West is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 31, 2022.
