Multiply has announced that it is extending its free delivery offer for purchases made on its online stores and waiving transaction fees until June 2013. This incentive was first introduced in November 2011 and had been extended to take effect throughout 2012. With its transition from a social network to an online marketplace nearing completion, this program extension is expected to introduce more people to online shopping and increase transaction numbers at Multiply.
The free delivery offer is applied to all transactions made between customers and Multiply trusted sellers, with a minimum value of Rp 100,000 per purchase.
Multiply notes on its release that it has managed to attract major brands and retailers to open a presence at its online store, such as Electronic Solution, Erafone, Okeshop, Fimela Shop, and many others.
Multiply Indonesia country manager Daniel Tumiwa said in a statement, “The free delivery program and free transaction fee make the best synergy for the education and expansion of online transaction in Indonesia. We are seeing more satisfied shoppers at Multiply.com and an increasing variety of products being sold”.
Multiply claims that until December 2012, the number of transactions have grown 11 times with a 13 fold increase in value of goods bought and sold at through its website and an 8 fold rise in customers, although it did not provide a frame of reference. Multiply plans to release a brand new global site in 2013 to deliver a better shopping experience, developed entirely by Indonesian developers.
