Asia’s online publication Tech In Asia announces it has received $4 million in funding, led by SB-ISAT Fund, a $50 million fund raised by Softbank and Indonesia’s Indosat. Also involved in this round are several new investors, including Facebook’s co-founder Eduardo Saverin, Walden International, Marvelstone, m&s Partners, and Nitrous’ co-founder Andrew James Solimine. Tech In Asia’s existing investor, East Ventures, Fenox Venture Capital and Simile Venture Partners also participated.
Tech In Asia’s CEO Willis Wee in the press release commented, “This investment will be used to evolve Tech in Asia’s businesses so that we can better serve the needs of our community.”
Teddy Himler, VP of SB-ISAT Fund, added, “We are excited to partner with Willis and the Tech in Asia team as they solidify their position as Asia’s leading source for technology-related content and pursue other strategies to bolster Asia’s technology community.”
