The market research done by GrabTaxi a couple of times ago resulted on a number of interesting findings. After successfully launching its services in Padang earlier this month, the service enters Surabaya. It’s presence in the city is expected to eliminate the practice of rate bargaining done by drivers and their passengers.
GrabTaxi picked Surabaya as its third city of operation in Indonesia, as well as its twentieth city in six regional countries like Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia at the same time.
“The security of public transportation in Surabaya, especially taxi, has become a patent issue in Surabaya. GrabTaxi is aware of this, thus we provide a solution to the issue. We emsure that we only partner with licensed and validated taxi operators. We really select the drivers carefully, as we require them to join an intensive training for a week and sign the code of ethics that we set. This is fundamentally important since security – certainty and velocity are GrabTaxi’s three main pillars and commitments,” GrabTaxi’s Head of Marketing and Partnership Kiki Rizki stated in his press release.
In order to ensure customers’ satisfaction, GrabTaxi plans to operate for full 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. He also underlined that his team aren’t hesitate in giving punishment and even fire those who can’t keep their customers happy and satisfied.
While promoting its beta version in Surabaya, GrabTaxi invites all citizens of Surabaya to have a taste of its services by providing Rp 15.000 of discount and argo-based tariff should they book the service via GrabTaxi’s app and enter “SURABAYAAMAN” as the voucher code, starting from March 29 to April 30 2015, without any booking fee nor minimum transaction.
“We’re really glad with this expansion to Surabaya. The Commuters of Surabaya may now experience taxi service and booking without having any stress with GrabTaxi,” Said Eu Gene Hong, GrabTaxi Indonesia’s General Manager.
