Starting yesterday, everybody can register to enjoy Pinterest’s service. Previously, only users with invitations, both from Pinterest and other people who had have joined, could register for this service.
The announcement is delivered through a blog posting by Pinterest. When previously the amount of user is limited due to server issue, in said blog post, Pinterest announced capacity addition so it is guaranteed to be able to handle every registered user.
According to Experian calculation as reported by TechCrunch, Pinterest has 107 million visits on last April, which made it the most visited social media after Facebook and Twitter. Its user increases around 4.377% on May 2012 when compared to May 2011.
This capacity addition to have impact on the opening of Pinterest service cannot be separated from the funding that Pinterest received on May. That time, Rakuten lead several investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners and FirstMark Capital, as well as several individual investors to invest around USD 100 million on Pinterest.
If you haven’t joined Pinterest, you can directly register on this page. You can use your Facebook, Twitter or email account to regster. With Pinterest, you can pin your favorite pictures or website and share it with everyone.
