Today, exactly on Mother’s day (12/22), Emera Capital, part of MRA Group, announces seed funding for Parentalk. A digital media company focused on providing contents for millennial parents. Parentalk has debuted its contents via social media (Instagram). Official site is planned to be launched publicly on the next day.
Parentalk was founded by Nucha Bachri. The history begins with observation and personal experience, also those people around her, in need to get relevant and reliable information regarding pregnancy and parenthood. Besides relevance, the content needs to match the shifting habits in this current digital era.
“For easier and familiar access to information, [the right media] is on Instagram. Therefore we need reliable sources, experience the same feeling with us during pregnancy and go through parenthood, with the ease of being on the social media platform on our daily basis,” Bachri said.
Since November 2017, and still focusing on Instagram platform, Parentalk has a rapid growth of followers on Instagram. Instagram Live content becomes one of Parentalk’s trademark. On the other hand, as Bachri said, it also has strength in data customer for content compiling base. It is the reason behind the organic fast-growth.
Along with the funding, Parentalk plans to build a solid creative team also conducts research and development for better technology. There will be a Virtual Reality (VR) based content in 2018 for all Parentalk loyals.
“I see the partnership with Emera Capital can help Parentalk to grow better, as MRA had media experiences both print and radio. I and team saw MRA trust on our vision and mission to keep being honest and most-updated content creator, as an interesting factor to run partnership,” added Bachri.
For Emera Capital, this is the second official strategic involvement since the establishment in 2017. Previously, MRA also held strategic partnership with DailySocial.
“To us, investing in digital focus company is a strategic step to strengthen the business line. Parentalk can be seen to give bold and disruptive ideas in creating content highly relevant with parents, millennial mom and dad. With our current experience in holding Mother and Baby media, both are expected to support each other,” Michael Tampi, Emera Capital’s Managing Partner, said.
