As our sister site Trenologi reported earlier today, Nokia will be holding a developer conference in Jakarta on 12 June, which is just under two weeks from now. The event is free but requires registration on Eventbrite. The one day event will be split into Lumia and Asha tracks and will have speakers from the company as well as senior software developers from the community.

With all these hackathons and startup events happening over the last few years, it’s no surprise that a big event like this was coming sooner or later. Nokia has been one of the strongest drivers of Indonesia’s developer community and with Lumia and Asha both making strong impressions on developers, a proper local conference is one that they would be looking forward to attending.

The one day event will be held at the Shangri-La hotel from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. The conference will also include announcement of the winner of the Asha Developer Competition as well as the presentation of the top developers from the Nokia Premium Developer Program.

As the Asha platform is getting a refresh beginning with the upcoming Nokia Asha 501, Nokia will also be sharing more information regarding software development for the new version, which at first glance is eerily reminiscent of the now defunct MeeGo platform.

The conference will be split into two tracks following a general session at the start of the event. Developers looking to find out more about the refreshed Asha platform should not miss the deep dive session at the beginning of the track while those looking to start developing for Windows Phone should attend the Lumia get started session.

General Session

  • Nokia Developer Ecosystem Update by Nokia Indonesia
  • Asha Developer Competition Winner by Nokia Indonesia
  • Winning Consumer with Nokia Developer by Nokia Indonesia
  • Nokia Developer Program by Nokia Indonesia

Lumia Premium Track

  • How to Get Started on Windows Phone 8 by Nokia Developer VIP
  • Windows Phone 8 App Advanced Scenario by Nokia Developer VIP
  • Windows Phone 8 Game Development by Nokia Developer VIP
  • Lumia Premium Developer Program by Nokia Indonesia

Asha Premium Track

  • New Asha Platform Deep Dive by Nokia Corporation
  • Nokia In App Payment by Nokia Corporation
  • Nokia Monetization Case Study by Nokia Developer VIP
  • New Asha Platform Application by Nokia Developer VIP

Those who participated in the Asha Developer Competition as well as developers who have made the cut into the Lumia Premium Developer Program are strongly expected to attend the conference.

Participants from Surabaya, Malang, and Bandung won’t have to worry about transportation to and from Jakarta as Nokia has prepared round trip buses as long as they fill in the forms provided on the Eventbrite page. Failure to sign up for transport means travel arrangements for participants departing from those cities will not be covered.
