Monika Rudijono To Be Uber Indonesia's President Director / Uber

Uber announces Monika Rudijono as Uber Indonesia’s President Director effective on January 2018. Monika is currently President Director of Grey Group Indonesia, a well-known advertising agency, having a Business Administration degree in Marketing and Finance from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Monika will take up the empty spot left by Alan Jiang earlier this year. Alan left his position due to the bribing scandal involving local employee. Even though the issue has not take much of public attention, Uber, under supervision of new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, is pushing the company to a “better practice”.

Monika herself has 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing agency. Besides Grey Indonesia, she was also engaged with FCB, Leo Bummet and Isobar.

In her statement, Monika said, “Ridesharing has changed the way Indonesia moves, and presents economic opportunities for millions of people. I am glad to be a part of this transformation, and leads a new chapter of Uber in my proud country.”

Monika is assigned to lead Uber facing the tight competition in developing on-demand sector, with GO-JEK and Grab as competitor. Uber Indonesia still focus on transport and delivery sector, available in 34 cities and 7 provinces.

They are yet to launch food delivery service UberEATS, which initially expected to be available in 2017.

“Uber technology brings out benefit for passengers and driver partners across Indonesia. With a strong and growing team, we will continuously committed to human resources, product innovation and Indonesian partnership,” Uber Asia Pacific’s Chief Business Officer Brooks Entwistle said.
