M3 World Championship Unveiled with US$800,000 Prize Pool; North American Qualifier Announced

Moonton will host its third world championship, M3, taking place at an offline venue in December, with US$800,000 on the line.

The M3 World Championship was first unveiled by Moonton in the MLBB Esports roadmap published earlier last month, which revealed the third world championship will take place in December and feature 16 teams - up from 12 in M2. The location is unconfirmed as of now, with numerous rumors claiming that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of their top choices.

Moonton has also raised the stakes with the previous M2's US$300,000 prize pool now set to US$800,000 as 16 teams will duke it out in an unannounced format.

The first iteration, M1 World Championship, saw EVOS Esports lift the trophy after a 4-3 victory over their Indonesian counterparts RRQ Hoshi. Subsequently, Bren Esports ruled the Mobile Legends M2 World Championships in come-from-behind fashion, defeating the Burmese Ghouls 4-3, in Singapore.

North American Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams now have a route to the M3 World Championship after the announcement of the North American qualification on August 31. It will take place from September 11-19 and will feature a US$6,500 prize pool up for grabs.

The top three teams will share the US$6,500 prize pool. The winning team will take home the lion's share of US$3,500, the runner-up team will take home US$2,000, and the third-place team will pocket US$1,000. Additionally, 2,7 million diamonds will be up for grabs for the teams and spectators that tune in to the broadcast on Twitch, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.

Several notable talents will be hosting the show. which includes Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner, Austin “Capitalist” Walsh, and David “Assassin Dave” Mao.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship

Teams will have a chance to qualify for the M3 World Championship in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, and Cambodia through their respective Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) league.

Teams in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, and Cambodia will have the opportunity to qualify for the M3 World Championship via their local Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) leagues.

While Moonton's initial emphasis was on Southeast Asia, the company recently announced expansion into Brazil and Cambodia, as well as the transformation of MPL Philippines into a franchise league beginning with Season 8.
