Lyke, a curated fashion aggregator app has announced shutdown and diverted its team to China’s e-commerce service Jollychic, along with its strategy to develop business in Indonesia.
In an official statement to DailySocial, Lyke’s CEO Bastian Purrer did not explain the reason behind the shutdown of a company that he’s been handled for 2.5 years. However, the decision was taken to support Jollychic’s ambitions that began to focus on growing business in Indonesia.
On this merger, Lyke‘s team experience in Indonesia can be a powerful resource for Jollychic. Along with this announcement, Lyke app has started to advise the user to download Jollychic app.
“As a team, we are very proud of what we’ve accomplished and very excited to
continue the journey with Jollychic,” Purrer explained, Thu (3/1).
Aaron Li, Jollychic’s Founder & CEO, added, “Lyke team has already managed [and understand] its market and Indonesian consumers, we are looking forward to learning from their local wisdom.”
During its time, Lyke claimed to have 1.6 million users and introduced image search technology. In addition, Lyke has processed more than 500 thousand orders since early 2016.
Jollychic was first established in China in 2014. It was introduced in Indonesia last year. This app offers online shopping experience from hundreds of fashion, electronics, lifestyle products.
