LinkAja is soon to available as an alternative payment in Gojek app besides Go-Pay. The announcement marks Gojek’s firs time involving a third party, and stop the rumor that says LinkAja to heat up e-money competition in the Indonesian market.
Gojek‘s President, Andre Soelistyo said this feature is to be available this year. They consider the open ecosystem and third party collaboration can be more impactful to the current population.
“Gojek congrats LinkAja for the launching and gladly welcome the arrival to our platform,” he said in the official statement.
Go-Pay Managing Director, Budi Gandasoebrata added, LinkAja takes along similar mission with Gojek and Go-Pay, to support GNNT (National Non-Cash Movement), introducing and educating Indonesian population the benefit of using non-cash payment.
Soelistyo also said that Gojek and Go-Pay will be more open to collaboration in objective to give more positive impact to the people, and to build the Indonesian economy from the lowest chart.
LinkAja is officially introduced on June 30th, 2019 as an e-money of Telkomsel’s synergy with 7 state-owned banks. A few days ago, LinkAja’s CEO, Danu Wicaksana explained the strategy to focus more on the basic needs instead of offering promos on lifestyle services.
There are some pilot projects to add, such as remittance, train transport, toll roads, and pertamina gas station.
One of the ongoing services is a loan. LinkAja partners with Kredit Pintar lending startup to provide the service. Users are allowed to borrow cash loan starts from Rp600 thousand up to Rp1.2 million.
