LINE NEXT Launches DOSI Wallet for Its Global NFT Platform DOSI

Designed as a social passport, DOSI Wallet will not only support payment and asset trading, but also provide a variety of NFT-related experiences and social features in the DOSI ecosystem

NFTs are a big hit in Japan. Earlier this year, major Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten launched a dedicated NFT marketplace dubbed Rakuten NFT. Last month, Japan's leading social media platform LINE also launched its own NFT marketplace, aptly named LINE NFT. But LINE's vision apparently doesn't stop there. It also wants to build a global NFT ecosystem through its dedicated subsidiary, LINE NEXT.

Recently, LINE NEXT announced the official release of DOSI Wallet, a digital wallet made specifically for its NFT platform DOSI. While DOSI hasn't yet been operational, it has already secured several high-profile partners last March. The plan for DOSI is to make it an all-in-one publishing platform for NFTs, where brands and creators can effortlessly build an NFT storefront of their own, and for general users to easily buy and trade NFTs.

Adhering to that ethos, DOSI Wallet is designed to be a "social passport" for the platform. As explained in the press release, not only will DOSI Wallet support payment and asset trading, it will also provide users with a variety of NFT-related experiences, as well as other social features that are still within the DOSI ecosystem.

For transactions and payment purposes, DOSI Wallet will not only support crypto, but also fiat via credit cards or digital payment services such as LINE Pay and Naver Pay. This functionality is said to available once DOSI is officially released within the first half of 2022. To sign up for DOSI Wallet, users only need to log in using their LINE, Facebook, or Google accounts.

To celebrate the launch, DOSI is partnering with Lotte World Adventure Busan to hold an NFT airdrop event for DOSI Wallet users. The Korean theme park has published a limited number of NFTs to celebrate its grand opening last March. These limited NFTs of four short videos, each featuring the Lotte World characters Lotty and Rory, will be given to selected users through DOSI Wallet.
