Lensza Indonesia, Indonesian startup that focuses on providing contact lenses and other accessories related to eye, announced an undisclosed funding from a number of undisclosed investors that come from Indonesia, Singapore, and Netherland. The money will be dedicated to the company’s growth.
Lesza works under InternetOptics Pte Ltd which is famous not only in Indonesia, but also Singapore and Malaysia. The startup plans to allocate the funding to strengthen its team, which now consists 20 people, widen its scope geographically and add more tech and operational infrastructure.
InternetOptics has introduced Blackspex in Indonesia and Singapore, as well as partnered with 30 global brands. Upon developing Blackspex, Lensza’s Co-Founder and Managing Director Marc Uthay commented, “We believe that we can win the Indonesian consumers’ trust if we keep selling luxurious products such as the black eyeglasses.”
Lensza was established in February 2014 and has collected more than 350 contact lens types from 25 brands ever since. Regarding the effect of eye accessories adoption towards online business, Uthay claimed, “Singapore is the most measurable market in Southeast Asia so far, they wish for a fantastic service from an online company. Indonesian market cares more about the price.”
“It’s good to see how e-commerce players try educating Indonesians to shop online. Showing them how to shop online. The market may stand on its own in the next 2-3 years,” he ended.
