1. “Steve is only icon”. Yang terbaik adalah bisa mengimplementasikan kratifitas kita ke dalam dunia nyata dan bermanfaat. Kalau kata om Bob Sadino “Just Do It” lakukan apa yang bisa kita lakukan.

   Is he one of the best engineer in the world? Yes, he is. He designed and built Apple I computers with his own hand. He didn’t ever take a course, didn’t ever buy a book on how to do it. It was all self-done. He just pieced together in his own head.

   Is he also one of the best innovator? Yes, he is. His inventions and machines are credited with contributing greatly to the personal computer revolution of the 1970s. Together with Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak created the first commercially available personal computers and helped establish home computing for the masses.

7. Woz kecil banyak mendapat pelajaran dari ayahnya yang seorang insinyur, fakultas tehnik. Darinya ia belajar banyak tentang elektronik. Ayahnya mengatakan “tehnik dapat membawa masyarakat ke tingkat kehidupan yang baru”, kata tersebut cukup mewakili maksud dari inovasi. 15. Best engineer and innovator in the world, in his era. Undoubtful. Great innovation come from a very simple idea. Steve Woz idea is very simple, to bring PC into everyone’s table. Create a PC that’s affordable and can be used by everyone in the house. He succeeded creating a fully assembled circuit board that later become the first apple product, Apple I, in 1976. Every inch of it is designed, engineered and passionately handcrafted by Steve himself. Now a PC, fit on your table, at affordable price. And this is a beginning of home desktop PC era.

If we take a look at any top engineers/innovators of all times list you can highlight two important qualities shared by awesome individuals like Da Vinci, Gutenberg, Ford, Watt, Tesla, etc. First,they came up with an idea and tinkered passionately with available resources to cobble something radically new. Second, the solution they devised didn’t stop there but also allowing people to follow up, just like a door that leads to even more doors to endless adjacent rooms.

    I think based on those qualities alone, Woz is definitely on that list.

    Banyak teknisi hebat n pintar di kampus2, tapi hanya sedikit yg membuat perubahan.
    Perubahan ada saat kita TIDAK hanya melakukan apa yg ‘orang masa lalu’ lakukan…
    saat kita mengedepankan analisis, eksperimen, perfectionism, customer want, n personal taste.
    Setiap org punya personal taste-nya, tp sekolah menghambatnya dg menghakimi ttg benar n salah.
    Sekolah membuat org2 takut untuk melakukan sesuatu secara berbeda ato baru, karena sesuatu yg baru adalah sebuah kesalahan, ga sesuai textbook! n patut dapat ganjaran nilai E!

20. Steve Wozniak bersama dengan Steve melakukan langkah yang berani dengan hanya fokus kepada perangkat yang mereka bangun dan ciptakan bersama dan menawarkan perangkat tersebut ke para hobbyist. Langkah ini merupakan langkah yang berani untuk seorang inovator dan insinyur; alasannya sederhana, di saat orang-orang berfokus pada pengembangan solusi untuk enterprise, Woz dan Jobs malah fokus pada inovasi apa yang mereka dapat lakukan; (dalam hal ini, Apple II). Lebih jauh lagi, hal itu terjadi 30an tahun yang lalu dimana persaingan teknologi tidak seketat dan tidak sedominasi sekarang. Saat ini banyak inovator yang mengatakan dirinya benar-benar brilian, padahal hanya ikut-ikutan. Lebih jauh lagi, banyak engineer yang malah tertipu dengan kondisi yang ada; bukan berinovasi tetapi hanya melakukan rutinitas biasa. Di awal langkahnya, Woz (dan Apple) telah menunjukkan bagaimana seharusnya engineer bisa melakukan inovasi.

21. I guess the statement is mostly true , especially about inovator. His name maybe writen as marvelous innovator next century on the techclopedia. Without his idea, maybe now i can’t write this comment because the personal computer is bringing by his idea with steve jobs.One quotes i have from him,  “I’m engineer and i’m proud it , so i’ll have my own stories to keep our family proud to me”. 

22. The statement is definitely true. Without him, Steve Jobs would be a nobody, and vice-versa. Have you heard about Steve Jobs? I haven’t heard anybody who doesn’t. But have you heard about Steve Wozniak? Only a handful of people heard his name. I think more people should know of him and his history, how he invent and built Apple Inc. from scratch. I’ve always wanted to hear both Steves’ lecture. But with the passing of Jobs, Wozniak’s seminar is all I want. Both people inspire me as a student to keep innovating and believing that we can achieve our dreams, even when it seems impossible.
