Indonesian Outdoor Gear Brand Eiger Launches Its First NFT Collection

Riki the Tiger is Eiger’s first NFT collection, made in collaboration with a production house and NFT launchpad from Bandung, Project137

More and more companies in Indonesia have realized how NFTs can become such a powerful tool to help create communities around their customers effectively. The latest is Eiger. The Bandung-based outdoor gear brand recently announced its first NFT collection, made in collaboration with a production house and NFT launchpad from Bandung, Project137.

Dubbed "Eiger Friends", the collection stars a character named Riki the Tiger in various outfits, some of them noticeably show pieces from Eiger's own clothing range. In a press release, Eiger's CEO Christian H. Sarsono explained that the launch of this NFT collection is an early initiative for the company to create digital communities.

Jason Wuysang, e-commerce general manager at Eiger, added that this NFT collection is also a display of Eiger's commitment to nature conservation. He said that Eiger and Project137 are planning to donate some portion of the project's sales to wildlife conservation organizations in Indonesia.

The initial sale of Riki the Tiger NFT collection will be conducted through Project137's own site, starting from May 11, 2022. The number of NFTs available to mint is said to be limited, but as of now, there hasn't been any official information regarding the total supply. The collection runs on Polygon blockchain, and minting price is set at 12 MATIC (around 150,000 IDR).

Another benefit for minters of Eiger's first NFT collection is a special 10% discount for item purchases at eigeradventure.com. This perk is limited only to 50 buyers who mint Riki the Tiger NFTs on May 11, and who made confirmation through Project137's official Discord channel.

This collaboration marks one of many ways for Eiger — and many other companies, for that matter — to build the bridge connecting them to Web3 and the metaverse. In a blog post announcing the launch, Eiger says that it is open for collaboration with more parties in the future.
