Imagine Cup, Microsoft’s annual tech competition, has officially opened its registration phase. In this tenth event, the tech titan would search for Indonesian young developers to represent Indonesia in a world event. As of yesterday, participants may join the first stage of selection by registering their video no later than February 28, 2015.
Imagine Cup is a prestigious annual global competition which is initiated by Microsoft. In this event, the giant doesn’t merely look for tech-based solution and innovation, but also to ensure the application of such technology in its surrounding as well.
In the early phase of the competition, Microsoft allows students to submit their up-to-ten minutes videos about their apps to Imagine Cup 2015 Indonesia’s official website. The registration period will last for the next 30 days, as the due date would be February 28, 2015 at 23.59 WIB.
All qualified videos will be announced on March 1, 2015, only to be narrowed into the best five to eight. The first round of selection’s result will be announced on March 5, 2015 at 17.00 WIB via notification to participants’ e-mail as well as Imagine Cup’s portal. The chosen ones will proceed to the next round, which will be held on March 14, 2015.
The best team at the Innovation and Games Imagine Cup 2015 competition would get rewarded Rp 50 million cash, while the World Citizenship competition will award the winner with Rp 100 million cash. The best three will then be sent to represent Indonesia in the Worldwide Semifinal which will be conducted online. The final round, the Worldwide Final, will be held in Seattle, the U.S in July 2015.
