People always come up with new year’s resolutions around this time of the year and among the most popular one is to quit smoking. To help you follow through on that, Singapore-based Bitsmedia has released Quit Pro, an app which lets you track your smoking habit and hopefully end it once and for all.
Quit Pro is an iPhone app intended to help smokers track when, why, and where, they smoke the most. Because most people who resolve to quit smoking tend to pick it up again well before the year ends, this app will remind you to input your progress and monitor your smoking activities.
You’ll be able to check your historical data, find out how often you smoke, what time, how many cigarettes you’ve had, and see for yourself how much money you’ve burnt over a period of time. By having this information on hand at any time, it provides a visible analytical data which may provide a dose of reality check.
The app perhaps won’t just help people quit smoking but act as a trigger to perform self evaluation to find out what keeps them smoking. If people know when they are most likely to smoke, it could lead them to reduce or avoid the things that they do at that particular time which may have driven or encourage them to smoke.
You might remember Bitsmedia as the company that released the popular Muslim Pro app as well as Frenzapp. Quit Pro is the first app from Bitsmedia following company founder Erwan Macé’s departure from Google earlier this year. He joined Google as part of its developer relations team last year but left several months later. Since then he’s been back running Bitsmedia and most recently released version 5 of Muslim Pro.
Quit Pro is available for free from the App Store
