Huawei and Telin, PT Telkom’s international subsidiary, recently signed an agreement on the development of business innovation center and a collaboration to serve international market. Within this framework, Huawei will contribute its world class skills in various tech areas, including preparing the infrastructure at the innovation center in order to facilitate Telin so that it may expand its international business.

The realization of the collaboration will be supported by Huawei’s Communication as a Service (CaaS) technology. The tech allows telecommunication network to create better app content and expand the basis of its business customers. This is a new way for operators to make use of the infrastructure network to produce services, open the market, and generate new ecosystem for various areas, including for corporate, vertical industry market, M2M and other potential ones that implement information and communication technologies.

CaaS-based solution is regarded to be highly beneficial upon creating new business opportunities by developing communication-based content through API (Application Programming Interface) or SDK (Software Development Kit) to join various devices’ communication capability. Not only Person to Person (P2P), but also Person to Machine (P2M) and Machine to Machine (M2M).

Besides possessing premium service that may fulfill the expectation for corporate-like exclusive communication services, the benefits also covers the identification of the right partners in vertical industry, new business model creation, and the ecosystem that brings the services to a higher level.

Both Telin and Huawei stated in the release that the agreement was an honor since each of them will get the opportunity of seizing combined innovation, which may be used to expand their international business.

As for Telin, Telkom’s subsidiary that takes care of international businesses, the agreement is highly strategic, particularly since Huawei’s CaaS service is full of business equipment. Owning 10 subsidiaries in various countries all over Asia, CaaS might be the perfect component for better communication services.
