Three Konsula co-founders, Shinta Nurfauzia, Johannes Ardiant, and Ronald Wijaya / Konsula

Healthcare startup Konsula announces it has received seed funding from East Ventures. Its noble mission is to break open access to healthcare for Indonesian people. It will provide two things, online doctor directory and booking platform, and online platform to help doctors and clinics to manage their practices. The service will be available for public by the end of October.

Konsula is founded by Shinta Nurfauzia, Johannes Ardiant, and Ronald Wijaya, three Indonesians with U.S. educations. It’s established due to fact that it’s still difficult to find decent doctors with appropriate specialization and budget, although currently there are over 160,000 doctors registered all over the nation. It may serve as marketplace to connect patients and doctors.

Shinta Nurfauzia, Konsula’s CEO, explains, “Our Konsula smart search is designed to connect patients with the most suitable doctors, which is possible due to filters such as price, location, specialization, schedule, et cetera. It enables users to book appointments and submit reviews at their fingertips. Konsula also offers online healthcare practice management software that provides doctors and clinics with appointment scheduler and client record services. The two are specifically developed for Indonesian healthcare sector. By helping doctors to optimize their practice, we believe we can help more patients.”

“Indonesia healthcare is another big category need to be disrupted by startup. Konsula approach to solve discovery of health practitioners will help millions of Indonesia population to meet the right doctor. We glad to be part of Shinta, Johannes, and Ronald new venture,” Willson Cuaca, East Ventures’ Managing Partners, added.

Konsula claims 500 doctors have already signed up for its platform. In an open-for-competition online healthcare segment, Konsula will compete with bunch of sartup that offer similar services, including the recently funded Dokter.id and Telkom-backed UDoctor.
