PT Indosat Tbk’s Annual Stakeholders Regular Meeting and Extraordinary Stakeholders Regular Meeting resulted on the appointment of former Garuda Indonesia’s CEO Elisa Lumbantoruan as the new Indosat’s Independent Commissioner. In addition, Indosat also appointed former Telkomsel’s CEO Sarwoto Atmosutarno as one of its directors.
Elisa Lumbantoruan will be the company’s Independent Commissioner as per the meeting until the next meeting in 2016 (based on the company’s legislation). The former Garuda Indonesia’s Director has had a vast experience in Indonesia’s telecommunication industry, as he was XL Axiata’s Director from 2008 to 2012.
Meanwhile, former Telkomsel’s CEO Sarwoto Atmosutarno, who’s got appointed as one of Indosat’s directors, was crowned as the “Most Ideal CEO” back in 2011 by Warta Ekonomi. He contributed his innovation in telecommunication that impacts the nation’s growth. He was once a legislative candidate from the National Democratic Party.
According to Kompas, Indosat’s CEO Alexander Rusli explained that the initiative of appointing Sarwoto Atmosutarno came from the Government.
