Facebook Tests Ads for Mobile Apps

If you have a mobile app with Facebook user as your target market, you can consider to join in Facebook’s newest ad product which intended specifically for mobile apps.

The invitation to join in the beta testing is delivered by Facebook engineer, Vijaye Raji, in Facebook Developer blog post yesterday. Developers who are interested to join in the beta testing can register on this page.

Raji mentions that by advertising your mobile app on Facebook, iOS and Android apps developers will benefit in the growth of download counts. Raji claims that mobile app ads on Facebook are clicked 146 million times in the last 30 days,. When clicked, the ads will lead consumers to Apple’s App Store or Google Play’s pages of the apps.

Just like other ads on Facebook, the profit of putting an ad on Facebook is the developer can target specific users. App developer can also set the ad according to their budget. In addition, developer also receives the report of the ad.

Facebook is indeed one of the right media to advertise a mobile app. Many Facebook users are also mobile apps users. If developers have the budget to advertise on Facebook (which will be big), this can be put in to consideration as one of promotional media. Facebook suggests the price of USD 32-69 cent per click. Converted using rounded rate (IDR 9.000 equals USD 1) that means IDR 2.880 to IDR 6.210 per click.
