Elasitas Multi Kreasi developed an interesting game for BlackBerry 6 platform, and gained acknowledgement from Research in Motion by getting their developers invited (represented by Calvin Kizana) as speaker in App Planet – BlackBerry session on Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Named as GameMachi, the game is claimed to be fully integrated with Facebook, Twitter, and BBM Social Platform.
Quoted from Gopego, GameMachi proclaimed itself as the first social mobile game. The concept is text based game consist of 5 kinds of game: Dice, Rock Paper Scissors, Russian Roulette, Low Card, and Head or Tail. You can play this game through WAP, web (as Facebook App), and mobile application. For registration, you can choose to create new user name or use your Twitter or Facebook account.
Frankly, looking at its preview image, I’m kind of confused of what kind of game this is. So many information was written there and as seen as on BBM, My GameMachi’s segment is filled with contents that have no direct relation to the game itself. Of course, GameMachi is still on its prototype version as we speak. The website itself provide no information whatsoever, including when this game will be released to public.
BBM Social Platform itself act as sharing media where users can interact with friends on their BBM list, sharing data and content real time between fellow application users connected on BBM. BBM Social Platform can provide information on what kind of book you’re reading, sharing location information of some place or of your friend’s location, or inviting your friends to play the same game together.
To be honest, for me playing something text based feel so old fashioned considering in present time games with 3D animation based are widely used on other operating system platform. Even Angry Bird looks sophisticated compared to this text based game. But let’s wait and see whether this text based social game genre, integrated with BBM, can attract BlackBerry6 users.
