After winning the regional Seedstars World (SSW), Bandung-based eFishery is currently on its way to Geneva, Switzerland, to seize a bigger prize: $500 million equity investment. However, it has to beat the other 35 startups first before claiming its victory.
SSW is an exclusive competition for the best tech-based startups all over the world. After months of visiting 36 countries to find finalists from each country, the final round of the competition will be held in Geneva on February 4, 2015.
Previously, eFishery came out victorious in SSW Jakarta, beating the other 20 finalists back in September 2014. At the moment, they are reported to be joining 3 days bootcamp which is held by EPFL, one of most prominent engineering schools in Europe, and a number of international investors and mentors from reputable accelerators like Bbooster, The Founder’s Institute, and Chinaccelerator, as well as Galixo strategic consultant which will train them to develop their business model.
“Seedstars World is a unique competition since it looks for and displays the most promising startups outside Silicon Valley,” Seedstars World’s CEO Alisee de Tonnac said. “Seedstars World will hold its global competition annually and we expect to grow exponentially to various parts of the world and place every growing startup scene faster on the map!”
The Final Event will take place on the same date as one of global tech and innovation conference, Lift. Gibran Chuzaefah Amsi El Farizy, eFishery’s CEO, is optimistic that his team has the solution and idea which are widely needed, not only by Indonesians, but also world citizens as well.
