Due to a lot of inquiries for Echelon 2011 tickets since registration was closed on June 3, ticket selling will be reopened on June 8-11, 2011. Echelon will be held on June 16-17, 2011 in Singapore.
The event will present various speakers, launchpad and exhibition from various startups from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, India, and of course, Indonesia. Indonesian startups like Bouncity, PriceArea and SixReps will pitch there. Startups like Goorme, Tasterous and SendokGarpu will join exhibition.
Several speakers and important parts of the events are among others:
- Derek Sivers – Derek will be giving the keynote address on Day 1, titled “Uncommon Sense”. He is a serial entrepreneur, having founded his first company in 1997, as an online CD store for independent musicians. In 1999, he set up HostBaby as a platform to allow musicians and authors to easily set up their own artist website. Both companies were acquired by Disc Makers for US$22 million, and Derek gave away the majority of this to a charitable trust that he set up for music education.
- Jason Wishnow – Jason is the Director of Film and Video for TED (an invite-only conference that began in 1984, bring together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design). During Echelon 2011, he will talk about how he created TEDTalks, which allowed the general public to see TED presentations by personalities like Al Gore, for the first time. TEDtalks has collectively racked up half a billion views on YouTube.
- Eduardo Saverin – Investor, Co-Founder, Facebook. Eduardo Saverin is a co-founder of Facebook. Eduardo managed the business development and sales aspects during Facebook’s early years. Eduardo graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in Economics.
- The Startup Launchpad – 11 regional start-ups in the web or mobile-based technology sector will each be given 15 minutes (5 minutes pitch, 10 minutes for feedback) in front of a panel of expert judges. This panel will includes entrepreneurs and investors such as Eduardo Saverin (Co-Founder Facebook), Mark Hsu (co-founder, Sina), Richard White, (founder, Uservoice).
