Dailylicious Recap This Week

Dailylicious recap comes back to share you some information we received both for Dailylicious and DailySocial.

For this recap and on, we will change the form. It will be gruped in DailySocial and Dailylicious because of the differences on the content of both channel. We hope that Dailylicious can give refreshment and share the fun things from startups world and its serpentine.

However, we will still the “Dailylicious Recap” as the title because it is tasty and interesting.

DailySocial

Last week, there are some information from many categories starting from new startups launching and events. There is Updaterus that officially launched their beta version service. NightSpade, a mobile game studio released their game for Android devices. NightSpade has released Stack The Stuff game for Android devices.

Nightspade has been discussed on DailySocial for several times starting from the investment from East Ventures to the interview video of this studio founders. Besides Stack The Stuff game, they also released a new game for iOS devices entitled Mad Warrior. We have brief review about this game that can be found here.

Besides those two startups, DuniaVirtual also updated their service. Now BlackBerry users can use DuniaVirtual application to access and use their services. These app release, can make the e-commerce map in Indonesia more interesting.

Before coming to the information about events, let us see what news comes up on DailySocial. There is local news about Digital Media Consultant from Japan that opens their office in Indonesia last June and officially operated in September. The further information can be found here.

There is information from Malang. HackerSpace Malang moved to new location and changed their name to HackerStation. With the new facilities, it is more like accelerator and incubator. There is also news form IM2 that has modified Kongkoow to online marketplace.

We go to news in Asia. A research company, Ovum, released their publication that predicts that in 2016 mobile phone connection will reach 4.2 billion. The news about it can be found here. The next is the news from Google that spends more than $200 million to build three new data centers in Asia. It is planned to be ready to operate in 12 to 24 months. Spotify also issued to start expanding to Asia market by recruiting Google ex-employee to lead in Asia. It might be important to follow the last news since it is related to music industry in Indonesia.

There is news from Google. Google launch campaign in Egypt called as Ebda2 to visit some places including Universities to find new talents in technology entrepreneurship. I hope that this program will come to Indonesia since Google also campaigns their product massively here.

Another news is from Nokia, The Wall Street Journal said that Nokia is developing mobile platform to change S40 as called Maltemi. This news is interesting to follow because the low-end market has big number in business and becomes one of Nokia focuses. And also news about application synergy with Facebook Timeline.

Now we come to information about events. The Asia’s Top 50 Apps for all startups developers in Asia is coming again. While there is a vote system case but they had change the voting system and keep fixing their system. You may find the update here.

There is also news comes from RIM that will hold BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) Apps Hackaton in nine cities in the world starting from September. Jakarta will be the one and only city in Asia chosen as the venue. The latest events information is about the Social Media Festival that has just held at fX Lifestyle X’nter Jakarta.

As usual, there will be opinion articles from DailySocial editors that you can read. It starts with innovation, Indonesian startup valuation.

Dailylicious

The first information from Dailylicious is about the data of Indonesian BlackBerry users from January – September 2011. The data is divided based on operator. The info about it can be found here or from the original site here. Then, still about mobile, Engadget wrote an article about the selling growth of Android smartphone in three months. The market share has grown 43%.

The next information is dealing with Asian Investment. It is reported that the investment from Asia to Australia is 1.5 higher than from Australia to Asia. In 2009 to 2010, there are 150 companies in Asia invest their money in Australia while there are only 100 Australian companies invest their money in Asia.

There is also data from Nielsen explains about the internet access from mobile phone in Indonesia. Nielsen stated that most of the internet users in Indonesia use mobile phone to access internet. Moreover, the number is increasing. About 48% regular internet users in Indonesia use mobile phone to access internet.

There are also some quotes from startup enthusiast and media in Indonesia. As stated before, Dailylicious will try to capture quotes that sound relaxed but interesting.

Firman from TeknoJurnal wrote on Twitter about Inaicta event that will be held next week. Firman also criticizes the Inaicta products which are good but sometimes not succeed in the market. Next is the interesting Tweet form Ronald Ishak which might be the Angry Birds philosophy: “We use to say: I hit two birds with one stone. But now we say: I hit two pigs with one bird.” The last one is the interesting poster and quote from one of freelancer from Bandung. Check it out here!
