By the Popularity of Banks’ Online Marketplace, Bank Mega supports Lojai.com

After BeliBarang owned by Citibank and Tokone supported by Bank Mandiri, now a similar market place emerges. It is called Lojai.com. It is supported by Bank Mega although it is not 100% owned by Bank Mega, similar to other previous marketplace mentioned.

The next service that will be coming soon is Klikpay from BCA (Indonesia’s largest bank by customer base). It seems that the banks have found how to take the products catalogue bundled on credit card bill to online. With the support of banks as payment institution, the main problem of online marketplace that commonly around the payment system is now easier to manage.

Frankly speaking, Lojai.com is not an interesting name to hear or to remember so that users visit it repeatedly. It is not explained what the meaning of Lojai is. As cited from Bisnis.com, Lojai.com was established by Agus Tjandra and has been operated (since the soft opening) since October 2010. Agus explained that this marketplace has been prepared since 2007. Previously, Agus has experiences to manage products catalogue for 13 banks. By now, they claim to have 30 vendors with 200 thousands products.

Because it is not totally owned by Bank Mega, Lojai.com has flexibility to ask other banks to join them. It has been mentioned that 19 banks also Visa and MasterCards support them. The payment system on Lojai.com can be done by ATM transfer, BCA internet banking (integrated to klikbca system), and credit card. Even there is installment with 0% interest if it is paid by credit card published by Bank Mega.

So far, I admitted that the products registered on Lojai.com are quite complete. Even Lojai.com has succeeded to cooperate with Kinokuniya and Erlangga to provide books. You can check on the Gadget & Phone and electronics section, you will find many vendors there – no less than vendors on specific online shop like Bhinneka. The issue is on the delivery cost. It is awkward that Lojai charge IDR 45/kg for delivery in Java island.

Other than that, Agus Tjandra has explained clearly that they target IDR 6.5 trillion as the revenue in 2014. It is an ambitious target considering the number of credit card users now is only 6.5 million. It means that every user (all) should do transaction for IDR 1 million each year on Lojai.com to reach the target.
