Burpple Now Adds Descriptions to Photos, Turns Members Into Food Bloggers

Fresh off the announcement of their Android version of the mobile app, Burpple released an update which allows people to add descriptions to photos of their food. It’s something that probably should have been there from the beginning but at least it’s there now and according to the announcement, descriptions from Instagram will be carried over for people who have activated Instagram Connect on their Burpple accounts.

At this point, we’re already pretty convinced that you should leave your food photos on Burpple rather than Instagram. Leaving them on Path might be okay since it’s a private network and Path is meant to be treated like your diary, shared with your closes relatives and friends, but there’s a significant value in posting them on Burpple.

Not only does it allow other people to discover great food easily, you can turn it into a way to keep tabs on what you’re eating. If you’re on a specific diet for example, you can track back on what you had over time and find out whether you went astray, which might earn the ire of your nutritionist or spouse… on second thought, you might wanna hide that fact. But seriously, if you’re obsessed with posting photos of the food you’re about to eat, might as well do it on an app specific to food.

People sometimes complain about other people posting photos of food on places like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, well, on foodie apps like Foodspotting and Burpple, that’s kind of the whole point. With the new description feature on Burpple, you can tell a story about the food. You can say why you’re having it, who you’re having it with, what it contains, whether it’s good or not, how it tastes like, and so on. You get the point. You can also add descriptions to old photos that you’ve already posted on the app if you still remember the occasion. It’s like blogging about the food… actually, it is food blogging.

Another thing about Burpple is… why do you guys put out so many updates over the past month??? *sigh* At this point, Burpple might snatch the crown from Vine as the app with the most updates in 30 days.
