Bukalapak continues to extend their services to secure its position as a one-stop marketplace. Recently, they’ve launched an online bus ticketing feature. It’s currently available on desktop, but soon to be launched in the app.
To provide this feature, Bukalapak partners with a third party for the inventory. However, they avoid mentioning any further detail regarding the partner.
“A history behind the feature is to complete the travel product in Bukalapak. We aim to always provide a variant of products and facility for users whose using Bukalapak as the travel companion,” Evi Andarini, Bukalapak’s Corporate Communication Manager, said to DailySocial.
It’s similar to when we made a booking for flight or train ticket, users can select the origin city, destination, and departure date. The destination varies around Sumatra, Java, and Nusa Tenggara. It includes Aceh, Bengkulu, Tuban, Banyuwangi, Denpasar, and Bima.
Furthermore, users can select the travel period, choose a seat online, fill in personal data, and complete the payment. There are some payment options available.
Previously, Traveloka has released the similar feature in March 2018. There are several startups have focused on this sector, including RedBus, EasyBook, Bosbis, and BusTiket.
