Bridestory wedding vendor marketplace has just received an undisclosed seed funding from Sovereign’s Capital. A number of investors, including Beenos Plaza, East Ventures, and Fenox VC, also took part in the funding. These investors crown Bridestory as their first funded wedding-related startup.

Bridestory reportedly plans to use the fund to develop their products as well as recruit more talents. The startup also has vision to expand its business to 2 or 3 Southeast Asian countries by the end of this year.

This investment became Sovereign’s Capital’s first in Jakarta, and second, after Singaporean Dressabelle, in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, two other investors, Beenos Plaza and East Ventures, have just got involved in the Adskom’s funding project. Another investor, Fenox VC, is well known for its partnership with Telkom in developing Indigo Fenox and its investment at Silicon Valley through Fenox Fund.

The initiation of Bridestory, which was established by Kevin Mintaraga and Emile Etienne in April 2014, derived from Kevin’s wife experience, Nastassya Saputra, as a professional wedding planner. She told Kevin that most of her clients were willing to spend billions to turn their ideal wedding dream into reality, and it was music to Kevin’s ears.

“For the couples, we offer non-stop services to creatively design and personalize their wedding plans as well as provide recommendations of unique wedding concepts. For the vendors, we offer an efficient platform which enables them increasing their brand awareness and reaching global scale market,” Kevin said when being asked about his Bridestory’s business concept.

Referring to the latest info we receivd, around 7000 couples pay a visit to the mobile-optimized Bridestory everyday, results to 900 business leads to its thousands of registered wedding vendors.

Kevin added that Bridestory has started monetizing since last week and a number of vendors have paid their services. To add its credibility, Bridestory provides the “Diamond List Vendors” which contains trusted vendors that have good reputation and high quality services.

Update: Kevin Mintaraga has just clarified regarding Bridestory’s monetizing system.
